Turn Granola notes into Jira, Linear or Shortcut tickets

Granola does not connect to Jira or Linear on its own. The usual workaround is a Zapier automation or a community script that copies action items over as bare one-liners. Spectr connects to Granola directly and does the harder part: it reads the note and the transcript, pulls out requirements, bugs and decisions as separate items, and writes a story with acceptance criteria for each. Then it waits for you to approve them.

How it connects

API key. You generate a key in Granola and paste it into the project you want to connect.

Before you start

Granola gates API access by plan, so a Granola Business or Enterprise subscription is required to connect.

What Spectr reads from Granola

Note summary: Granola's enhanced note - the summary it writes from the call - is imported as the leading section, ahead of the transcript.
Full transcript: The transcript is fetched alongside the note and speaker-attributed, distinguishing your own audio from the other participants'.

A person approves everything before it is published

Spectr generates specs and stories, then stops. Every story goes to a review page where you approve it, edit it inline, or reject it - individually or in bulk. Only approved stories reach an issue tracker. There is no auto-publish setting to switch on, because a backlog nobody read is not a saving.

Setting it up

In Granola, generate an API key (Business or Enterprise plan required).
In Spectr, open the project and go to Integrations.
Choose Granola and paste the API key. Spectr validates it before saving.
Click Import meeting and pick a note from your Granola library.
Process it. Review the generated stories, then publish the approved ones to your tracker.

Frequently asked questions

Do I still need Zapier to get Granola notes into Linear?

No. Spectr talks to Granola and to Linear, Jira and Shortcut directly. There is no Zap, no polling script, and no local cache to watch.

How is this different from a Zap that copies action items into Linear?

A Zap moves text. Spectr reads the whole note and transcript, pulls out requirements, bugs and decisions as separate structured items, gathers context from your Notion, Figma and GitHub, and writes a story with acceptance criteria for each - which a person then approves or rejects.

Why does Granola need a Business plan?

Granola restricts API access to its Business and Enterprise tiers. That is their limit, not ours - Spectr cannot read notes on a plan that has no API.
