About these numbers
Where do these numbers come from?
From the teams already using Spectr and the feedback they have given us. Spectr is in Beta, so this is a working estimate rather than a measured average - and we would love more feedback from new customers to sharpen it. Every input here is yours to change, so you can build the picture that matches your team.
Why does a product manager get more back than everyone else?
Because most of a PM's list is work Spectr produces rather than assists with - the spec, the stories, the requirement revision, the scope log - so we model 60% of it coming back. Everyone else is mostly reading what it produced, which is much faster than writing it from nothing but is still read by a person, so that is 40%. The bigger difference between the two roles is not the share, it is how much they spend on this in the first place.
Why does it not always recommend the most expensive plan?
Seats are hard-capped, so a plan with fewer seats than your team is unusable rather than cheap - that sets the floor. Spec sheets are different: overage is $1 each, so a team a little over Starter's 25 a month pays $49 plus a few dollars instead of $149 for Pro. The calculator prices the overage and picks whichever total is lower.
Does the meeting time actually go away?
Some of it stops and the rest gets shorter. Grooming does not start from a blank backlog because the stories are already drafted, stand-ups get shorter because status is on a page rather than reconstructed round the room, and the conversation about who picks something up stops happening because the roster assigns it.
