Use your Spectr project data inside Claude

Spectr runs an MCP server, so Claude - on claude.ai or the desktop app - can work with your Spectr data where you already are. You add one address to Claude, sign in through Spectr, and choose which workspaces it can reach. It reads exactly what you can see and never more than your role allows; with the read-and-write permission it can start the same work as Spectr's buttons, each action as you. It only writes if it asks for write access and you approve that, and you can disconnect it at any time - which stops it on its very next request.

How Claude fits in

Ask Claude. It answers from Spectr.

Claude adds Spectr's MCP address and signs in through Spectr, where the person picks which workspaces it may use. Asked "What did the client agree on Tuesday's checkout call?", it calls list_workspaces, fetch_entities, fetch_entities and answers from what it read, as that person and within their role.

How it connects

OAuth. Claude asks to connect and you approve it when you sign in through Spectr, choosing all your workspaces or only the ones you pick. The connection is yours, not a project's, and read-only unless Claude asks for write access and you approve it.

Before you start

A Claude app that can add remote MCP connectors - claude.ai, the desktop app or Claude Code. Connecting costs nothing on any Spectr plan.

What Spectr reads from Claude

Your workspace data, as you
Spec sheets, stories, requirements, AI Memory, budget, team, scope-creep, integrations and more - the same data the app shows you, checked against your live role on every call.

Setting it up

  1. In Spectr, open User Settings > Connections and copy your MCP address.

  2. In claude.ai, add it under Settings > Connectors as a custom connector. In Claude Code, run claude mcp add --transport http Spectr <address>.

  3. Sign in through Spectr and choose which workspaces the connection can use.

  4. Ask Claude about a project. It lists your workspaces first, then reads your data as you.

Frequently asked questions

Anything else? Email hello@crowdlinker.com and a person will answer.

Can Claude change my data?

Only if it asked for "read and write" access and you approved it, and only the same actions you could take yourself - each one as you, within your role. Reading is free; actions that start AI work count toward your usage exactly as the same button in Spectr.

What does it cost?

Reading your Spectr data over MCP costs nothing against your plan, on every plan. Only write actions that start AI work count, as they would in the app.
