Use your Spectr project data inside ChatGPT

Ask ChatGPT what the client agreed last week, or which stories are still waiting for review, and get the answer from Spectr instead of from memory. Spectr runs an MCP server that ChatGPT connects to as a connector: add the address, sign in through Spectr, and choose the workspaces it may reach. ChatGPT sees what you can see and no more, and disconnecting it stops it on its very next request.

How it connects

OAuth. Adding Spectr as a connector in ChatGPT opens Spectr's sign-in, where you approve the connection and pick the workspaces. The connection belongs to you, not to a project.

Before you start

A ChatGPT plan that lets you add custom MCP connectors. In a business workspace, your admin may need to add it. Free on every Spectr plan.

What Spectr reads from ChatGPT

Your workspace data, as you: Meetings, spec sheets, stories, requirements, budget and team - read as you, with your workspace role applied to every call.

Setting it up

Copy the MCP address shown under User Settings > Connections in Spectr.
In ChatGPT, add a custom MCP server (listed under Plugins, or Apps and Connectors) with that address.
Sign in to Spectr when prompted and select the workspaces ChatGPT may use.
Start a chat and ask about one of your projects. ChatGPT finds the workspace, then reads as you.

Can ChatGPT change my data?

Only if ChatGPT asked for "read and write" access and you approved it; otherwise it is read-only. Any write action is the same one you could take yourself, within your role, and counts toward your usage as the same button in Spectr.
