Give Spectr your Notion docs as spec context

A story written from a transcript alone just repeats what was said in the room. A story written with your docs open beside it uses your real feature names, your data model, and the decisions somebody already made. Connect Notion, pin up to ten pages, and every time it drafts Spectr reads the ones the meeting is about - keeping the specifics and dropping the boilerplate.

How Notion fits in

Import your call. Let Spectr take over.

A call is imported from a note-taker (Fathom, Granola, Read.ai, or Fireflies.ai). Spectr picks out a requirement, a bug, an action item and an out-of-scope ask, reads Notion, Figma, and GitHub for context, and drafts a story and a bug with acceptance criteria. A person approves both, they are published to the team's tracker (Jira, Linear, or Shortcut), and the requirements, scope log and project memory update from the same call.

How it connects

OAuth. You authorise Spectr from Notion and choose which pages it can see. Spectr only ever reads.

Before you start

Access to the pages you want read: Notion grants Spectr access page by page while you authorise. Up to ten pages can be pinned per project, on every plan.

What Spectr reads from Notion

You choose them by search, or by pasting a page's URL when Notion's own search does not surface it.
A condensed version, not the whole page
Spectr reads each page it opens (up to 50,000 characters), then keeps the parts that matter - names, ids, numbers, decisions, rules - and drops the boilerplate. Every plan gets the same room for it in the prompt.
A record of what was read
Every generation run lists the Notion documents it actually used, so a story's context is auditable rather than a black box.

Setting it up

  1. Open the Spectr project and go to its Integrations tab.

  2. Choose Notion and click Connect, then pick which pages Spectr may access on Notion's consent screen.

  3. Select up to ten pages to pin as project context. Paste a URL for anything Notion search will not surface.

  4. Generate a spec sheet. The Context Gathered panel shows which Notion docs were read.

Does Spectr write anything back to Notion?

No. Notion is read-only context. The only place Spectr writes is your issue tracker.

Why ten pages?

Because context quality beats context quantity. Ten is room for the documents that genuinely define the product, not a whole workspace of meeting notes and half-finished drafts. Pinning more does not mean reading more: for each meeting, Spectr picks which pinned pages and sub-pages to read from the features that meeting discussed. The limit is the same on every plan.

Can Spectr see pages I did not share with it?

No. Notion's OAuth flow grants access page by page, and Spectr can only read what you selected there.
